About Jonathan

Jonathan Gross, who sold his film and DVD distribution company Unobstructed View in 2025, survived three decades in one of media’s toughest marathons. His path ran from Brooklyn through Toronto, New York, and Los Angeles – photography, sportswriting, rock criticism, pop TV, rap promotion, VHS manufacturing, Rolling Stone, Seinfeld – before returning to Toronto to build Canada’s leading distributor of classic films on disc. He now writes Nine Is The New Midnight, a victory lap through a long, strange trip marked by questionable detours, unexpected crashes, and the occasional sound of one hand clapping.
